May 2008:

Currently the K.O.P.S project is receiving a lot of attention. What started out as a dream, may soon become a reality. The goal of this venture, as we mentioned on the Home Page, is to get it to become a full-length cartoon series, or a DVD feature film. The beauty of having it on an audio CD is that it has many opportunities to become many things, such as an audio production to accompany a storybook.

As it stands, the CD was sent to Walt Disney, through an inside source, back in the fall of 2004 without much success. The three of us then created the "buzz" on the street by submitting it to schools, and letting friends, family and business colleagues hear it. The response was great. We found that kids were and still are humming the theme song. It also holds their attention without them seeing it.

In the spring of 2005, we got it in to the hands of Neil Cirucci, "Cindy Margolis's publicist." (www.cindymargolis.com) *Go to "In the Spotlight" tab. He also does a lot with local talent and the Daily News. Neil responded to a phone call made by Andy Julia on a whim. (Andy is a big fan of the Daily News) Neil stated, "There was just something about Andy's voice message." He was also looking for some fresh talent. It seemed to be right up his alley. We then met with Neil and his staff, John Mulhern, a studio engineer, and Andrew Manzano, another engineer for "The Sound Tank" studio. (www.ozonerecording.com) We pitched the idea to them. They loved it. Neil immediately put his brain to work on the project and made some phone calls.

At the end of April 2005 their staff shot a "focus group" video. It featured the children and the parents that have heard it. It focused on their views and ideas for possible events in the future. This video was also designed for our press kit.

Neil then flew out to Los Angeles in the early summer of that year. He met with Darren Davis, the founder of Blue Water Productions. (www.bluewaterprod.com) He also presented it to Gang of 7 Animators. (www.g7animation.com) The response was all positive. The plan now was to get this in to comic print with the hopes of a full-length DVD feature film in the future.

The remainder of 2005, from early May, was spent on preparing for the next phase of this project. Everything from posters, storyboards, and toy concept ideas were completed.

Neil Cirucci signed on "officially" as our agent in October 2005. He has done a wonderful job in promoting us on the internet and making contacts with "key people" in California.

As anyone can figure out, the steps to making this a reality takes financial backing. The last step to making our dreams come true was completed on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. The three of us and Neil met with Diego and Doreen DeMarco, long time friends of Andy Julia. We all discussed facts, figures, etc. at length. Well, the good Lord Jesus answered our prayers! The two of them made a more than generous investment in to this project! Words can not express how thankful and grateful we are. "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts." Everything is finally "full-steam ahead."

The next move in this venture was then completed. The three of us, Neil, and our two investors flew out to California, March 5th to the 11th of 2006. We met with the animators, Darren Davis (mentioned above) and Mattel Toys. Everything went beautifully and is in motion. The "Synopsis Bibles" were completed the remainder of March into the month of May of 06. Between May and early July of 06, we focused on a lot of promotional materials. We then flew out to San Diego, California on July 19th until the 24th for the 2006 Comic-Con convention. While we were there, we submitted portfolios and made some more major contacts. We also have decided to try animating this ourselves!  We invested some money in some of the latest software being used in the industry. This could save us a fortune in the near future, and make our portfolios a little sweeter. At this point in time, a comic book seems to be not the way to go. We're going to shoot staight for the big goal, "ANIMATION."  If everything goes well, we'll have a network deal very soon. This would then let Mattel Toys put its concepts in to production. Neil will also be putting out a national press release sometime in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed. We'll keep you posted!

*Southampton School No. 2 - Art Contest Winner*

On February 24, 2006 two of the members of Quick Wit visited Mrs. Elaine Novak and her 5th grade class at the Southampton School No. 2 in Vincentown, N.J. The class listened to the audio CD and drew up some renditions of what they thought the characters could look like. We have to tell you, this was a tough decision. All of the entries were really good. We had to pick one though. So here it is. The winner for the February 2006 "Meet & Greet" is Lauren Halley. Congratulations!!!!
